I love you, O LORD, my strength, O LORD, my rock, my fortress, my deliverer. (Psalm 18:2-3A)
I’m tired and I’m guessing you are too...tired from working long hours with those who may be sick with the virus, tired of worrying about getting my family sick, tired of not being able to see my friends and family, tired of not being able to go out to eat, tired of the stress, tired of people still arguing about how big of a deal this virus is, tired of the selfishness as people try to hoard the things that we all need, tired of people not taking responsibility for their own actions, tired of not being able to go to church, tired of not being able to receive Jesus in the Eucharist/Communion, tired of it all. We’re all tired and it’s a wonder that we’re still able to move forward, but it’s not by our own doing that we’re still upright! It’s the LORD who is giving us strength! It’s the LORD who is the rock upon which we’ve built our lives that supports our foundation! It’s the LORD who is our shelter and our fortress in this storm of 2020! It is the LORD who will deliver us from this and all evil! If you’re tired, if you’re stressed, if you’ve had enough, just let God take it from here and you’ll have more than enough to get through this and any challenge you face—because we have a God who keeps his promises and he gave up his life for you, so we know that it’s true! Amen!
