In this time of uncertainty, physical distancing, lack of hugs, and all those death statistics I wish you solace and grace and gratitude. Those messages from The Cross- that possessions, power, pleasure, and position are not to be worshipped, but our God of Love, creator of heaven and earth IS. In this time of crisis and a snapping of family bonds and physical closeness may the simplicity, stillness, and beauty of nature and the Love that spreads captivate you.
Enjoy your staycation for the nation!
Wishing you all a blessed and meaningful Easter, even if I will not see you.
Blessings,
Anne
Support Saint Mary Catholic Church:
In this unprecedented time, your pastor has lost his traditional methods of charitable and evangelical outreach. He needs help to fulfill the Church’s mission. Councils must reinforce their pastor and show that Knights stand ready to support him and the parish community, ensuring that no member of the parish is forgotten or goes hungry. Please keep in contact with Father Rene and Father Sylvanus and use the parish web pages
http://www.stmoloh.ca and
http://www.stmichaelsrc.com to keep in the know.
Since March 19, it is possible to make a credit card donation to parishes of the Archdiocese of Saint Boniface via the diocesan website. Sincere thanks to the parishioners who are taking advantage of this service to support their parish during the COVID-19 pandemic. Early on Monday, March 30, 54 donors had in all made or pledged 58 gifts totaling $7,137! Thirty-three (33) parishes and chaplaincies benefitted from this generosity.
The Archdiocese of Saint Boniface will send you your official income tax receipt and will transfer your donation to the parish you designated for your offering. A simple way to help your parish through this period of physical social distancing made necessary by the COVID-19 pandemic!
"My life is not about me. It is about God. It is about a willing participation in a larger mystery. At this time, we do this by not rejecting or running from what is happening but by accepting our current situation and asking God to be with us in it. Paul of Tarsus said it well: “The only thing that finally counts is not what human beings want or try to do, but the mercy of God” (Romans 9:16). Our lives are about allowing life to “be done unto us,” which is Mary’s prayer at the beginning and Jesus’ prayer at the end. "
