Water Damage at St. Ann
I want to advise the parishioners of St. Ann of an unfortunate incident that occurred in the kitchen area and the classroom/common area at St. Ann. An aging water pipe in the women’s bathroom had ruptured and water had been flooding these areas since sometime after Mass on March 15. When we became aware of this on March 19, we immediately addressed the situation by contacting Servpro of Cass & Saint Joseph Counties to begin cleanup. We also contacted our insurance agent for the Diocese of Kalamazoo.
With all the complications brought on by the Coronavirus, the process of restoration is at a slow pace but will be addressed as soon as possible. The Fellowship Hall is presently cluttered with materials and furniture that needed to be removed from the flooded areas. The good news is that the main body of our worship space was not affected by the flooding so Mass will be able to resume when the stay-at-home orders are lifted.
I want to thank Marc Breden and Margaret Evans for their efforts to oversee the cleanup and eventual restoration. While we are saddened by this flooding, we are grateful that we can and will restore all the areas affected. In light of what is happening with the Virus and its terrible toll of death and disruption around the world, we continue to pray for you. Padre
