Last night at 7:30 p.m., the joint ensembles of the Schola Cantorum of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart and Three Notch'd Baroque were supposed to perform J.S. Bach's monumental work, the Mass in B minor.
Although we are greatly disappointed that restrictions related to COVID-19 did not permit this performance to happen, the health and safety of each of you, your loved ones, and our musicians are paramount to us.
We hope that the threat of illness will pass away quickly.
You, our friends, patrons, and audience members are greatly missed.
It is because of you that, thanks to the generosity of the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation, the Sacred Music Program at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart strives to offer excellent, world-class performances to you for free.
Please stay in touch as we work to reschedule this and the Violins of Hope performance.
Circumstances permitting, our program for next season includes, among others, our annual Lessons and Carols concert liturgy, a performance by the VCU Health Orchestra, and the Grammy®-nominated (for "Best Chamber Performance"), all-female ensemble Trio Mediæval. (Click for more information.) All are expected to occur in the winter.
We value your patience and understanding greatly.
Thank you for your continued interest, support, and attendance of the Music for a Cathedral Space Concert Series. We hope to see you soon!
