Saint Rose of Lima invites you to join us as we take our faith sharing experience online. This is an opportunity to connect with others in our faith community, grow deeper and wider in your faith and consider the current challenges in our lives through the lens of faith.
The virtual small faith community groups will meet Thursday evenings from 7-8:00 pm. for six weeks, beginning May 14th. Each session will begin with an opportunity to connect and catch up with the group. We will then seek to dive deeper into the previous Sunday’s gospel (and Fr. Jim’s homily), reflecting on its meaning for our lives today.
Come for all 6 weeks or join us for as many as you are able. Zoom video conferencing will be used for these sessions. We are also starting a women’s only faith sharing group, meeting date TBD. For more information, or to join either group, please email Theresa Fugardi at t.fugardi@aol.com.

St. Rose Challenge
Put your faith into action!
This week’s challenge is to pray the rosary. Pope Francis in a letter to the faithful has said; during the month of May it is a time when the People of God express with particular intensity their love and devotion for the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is traditional in this month to pray the Rosary at home within the family. The restrictions of the pandemic have made us come to appreciate all the more this “family” aspect, also from a spiritual point of view.
For this reason, I want to encourage everyone to rediscover the beauty of praying the Rosary at home in the month of May. This can be done either as a group or individually; you can decide according to your own situations, making the most of both opportunities.
We are still accepting cards for essential workers, those in nursing homes and the homebound. Cards or pictures can be dropped off at the box located outside of the family life center where they will be quarantined before distribution. These cards can be ones of gratitude for the workers, include words of encouragement, or a springtime message for the homebound or those in nursing homes. We encourage all ages to participate! Make sure to take photos of you or your family members and their creations and email them to Susan McGoldrick at smcgoldrickreled@verizon.net so we can show the community how Saint Rose of Lima puts their faith into action. These weekly challenges will be included as part of the Saturday Flocknote.
