Who is Father Anthony? Father Anthony Vinson, OSB, is the pastor of Historic St. Boniface and St. Meinrad Catholic Churches. Originally from Iowa, he entered Saint Meinrad Archabbey to become a monk. He professed his first vows in 2001 and was ordained a priest in 2005. Other than his commitment to our Parish Family as our leader, he also serves the Archabbey and Seminary through other roles such as Director of Pastoral Formation.
Who was St. Anthony? St. Anthony the Great was a monk who lived in the mid 200s-300s AD. He was born in a wealthy family, but he gave up his riches to live a disciplined life as a hermit in the desert. Monks today look up to him as a model because of his life of holiness. His feast day is January 17.
Father Anthony, we are very grateful for the love, care, and wise leadership you bring to our Parish Family! Thank you for everything! May God continue to bless your prayer and work, and do know that we continue to hold you in our prayers.
