Dear Our Lady of Ransom Family:
My apologies that you are getting multiple emails from us, but I promised to keep you updated as information comes out of the Archdiocese of Chicago. We are getting close to being given a framework for moving the parish forward. Please take a close look at the information that we recently received:
“This past Tuesday, the Presbyterial Council and deans provided Cardinal Cupich with valuable input for our phased plan to reopen our churches. Those meetings and consultations with public officials have resulted in the development of a phased approach to reopening, which we will share this week. It will incorporate incremental steps for the sacraments that each parish will be guided through. "
Our parish leadership has been preparing to receive this information, and we are ready to begin this process as soon as we are given the green light. I know that you are hungry to return to your spiritual home. I consider that a great grace of this period of time since I think we are all connecting with a deeper hunger for the presence of Jesus Christ in our lives. I ask you to continue to keep Cardinal Cupich and all the leaders of the Archdiocese of Chicago in your prayers as they attempt to balance the type of pro-life response that is characteristic of our Catholic faith with the spiritual needs of the people. In this regard, I think on this Mother’s Day it’s especially appropriate to invoke the intercession of our mother and patroness, Our Lady of Ransom. As always, you can email me with any questions, or schedule a meeting with me directly on our website.
He is Risen!
