Dear Parishioners:
As we celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, we continue to place our trust in the care and protection of the Mother of God during this time of the coronavirus. I continue to pray for the health and safety of all of you and your families. I appreciate all the prayers, emails and phone calls with well wishes I have received from you.
We are beginning to use Flocknote as a means of communicating with our parish families. This means of communication will allow us to keep you informed as we anticipate the opening of more businesses and eventually our churches. As we look forward to returning to Mass, things will look a lot different in order to protect each other from the virus: seating capacity, reception of Holy Communion, social distancing, use of face masks and hand sanitizer, etc. Through Flocknote, I will try to keep you informed as I receive more guidelines from the Archdiocese of Washington.
In the meantime, the Chapel remains open Monday-Friday, from 6:30 am -12:00 pm for private prayer time and Adoration on Tuesday from 8:30 am – 8:30 pm. I still continue to hear confessions on Wednesday evenings, 7:00-8:00 pm in the Chapel and on Saturday, 3:00-4:00pm in the Church. Especially during the month of May, I invite you to visit the Shrine of Our Lady of Rock Springs.
Let us pray for those affected by the coronavirus, their families, healthcare workers, first responders and especially those who have died that they may have everlasting peace. As always be assured of my continued prayers for you and your families at the altar.
In closing, I would like to draw your attention to our new website, sacredheartbowie.org. Check it out!
Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us.
Peace,
Father Potts
