Per Bishop Doherty’s most recent directives, I am excited to share that we will resume public weekend Masses (I.e. Saturdays and Sundays) on the weekend of May 30-31, 2020. Scheduled times for confessions will resume Saturday, June 6, 2020.
It is very important to remember that anyone 65 and older, as well as vulnerable individuals, should remain at home as much as possible. As our County Health Director recently reminded me, COVID-19 is highly contagious, there is still no treatment or cure for this virus, and vulnerable people need to be protected.
Phase B (Effective May 30, 2020)
·Public Sunday Masses resuming at St. Charles Borromeo (SCB)
oCommunion will be distributed after both Masses to those in attendance.
oMasks will be required for everyone in attendance and we will practice “social distancing” both in our seating and during the distribution of Communion too.
·Baptism of Children Outside of Mass may be scheduled.
·Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation (beginning Saturday, June 6th).
·Our parish campus will remain closed to the public except during scheduled liturgies and sacraments.
We will provide more specific directives about how we will accommodate everyone safely here at St. Charles Borromeo in next weekend’s bulletin (I.e. May 24, 2020) and upcoming Flocknote messages. But please note it already appears as though everyone will only be able to attend every other weekend.
Phase C (Anticipated Date—Mid June)
·RCIA (Tentatively scheduled for Sunday, June 28th at 9:00 am).
·First Communion (Tentatively scheduled for Saturday, July 11th at 9:00 am). Mass reserved for First Communicants and their families.
·Weddings and funerals within Mass will be permitted.
·Parish offices may open with limited hours to the public. Our church will remain closed to the public except during scheduled liturgies and sacraments.
Phase D (Anticipated Date—Early July)
·Baptisms within Mass may be scheduled.
·Our church will be open to the public as we return to regular office hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30 am until 5:00 pm).
·Eucharistic Adoration will resume at designated times.
·Daily Mass and Devotions will also resume.
Please pray for the children and adults preparing to receive these Sacraments of Grace and Salvation. Know of my continued prayers for you and your intentions!
God bless,
Fr. Adam Mauman
