It is the tradition of the Church that during the month of May the we seek the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary in a special way. During this month when we honor our earthly mothers, we also turn our attention to the Mother who was given to us at the foot of Christ’s cross. Scripture says that Jesus entrusted Mary to the care of John, the Beloved Disciple, “and from that hour the disciple took her into his home.” (John 19:27)
