With the movement of Washington County into the Yellow Phase, the clergy and staff have been looking at how to reopen our buildings safely. We need to follow CDC and Diocesan guidelines to keep people as safe as possible while on church property. Even in the Yellow Phase, the guidelines state people should stay at home as much as possible.
The only church that will be opened at this time will be Miraculous Medal due to the need to constantly sanitize the church. The churches at Holy Rosary and St. Patrick will be opened in the future, but we are still working on how to accomplish that with the proper cleaning.
Private prayer will be held weekdays from 1 to 2 p.m. at Miraculous Medal Church only. There will be hand sanitizer at the doors of the church to be used upon entering and exiting. A face mask is required to enter and social distancing is expected. Directions will be posted. Please follow all rules for your safety and those around you.
Confessions: Starting May 23, confessions can be heard by appointment and also without an appointment.
- No appointments are needed for reconciliation at St. Patrick Parish Center: Tuesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 PM and Saturdays from 11 AM to 12:00 Noon.
- Fr. Tom Galvin will be at the side entrance (through the gate) to the Center. A chair will be available for the penitent who will be outside (under cover) and able to speak through the door, left slightly open. A screen will provide anonymity for the penitent. The line will form across the street (Hutchinson) and markings will be made on the pavement for the sake of social distancing.
- Appointments are needed for confessions at:
- Miraculous Medal Church — Saturdays from 1 PM to 3 PM.
- Please call the rectory office by Friday. You do not need to give your name so your anonymity remains. These are held with Fr. Carmen in the rectory entrance at the mail slot.
- St. Patrick Church — Appointments may be scheduled with Fr. Tom Gillespie by calling the parish office at 724-745-6560.
- Holy Rosary Church — Appointments may be scheduled with Fr. George DeVille by calling the parish office at 724-745-3531.
Baptisms, and Wedding and Funeral Masses can be celebrated at Miraculous Medal at this time, but with less than 25 people in attendance. Please call the parish office at 724-745-6560 for information.
Daily Masses and Sunday Masses will continue to be streamed via our website at hrmmsp.org/stream. Future plans are to celebrate Mass with less than 25 people in attendance. Daily Mass will be celebrated starting Monday, June 1 at 10 a.m. at Miraculous Medal only. Details are still being worked out at this time. Sunday Masses will be live-streamed only until further notice.
Thank you for your prayers and patience during this time. God bless you.
