Dear Friend,
A very blessed Memorial Day to you! Today, as a nation as we remember all those who have died in service to the United States of America. Their sacrifice demonstrates the character of our country which is echoed in so many men and women who continue to serve our country in different ways. We are grateful for such heroism during this very difficult time.
Last Friday, Fr. Sergio had a video announcement about the reopening of the church building for public worship. The announcement is still available for viewing by
clicking here. While we still cannot confirm that the church will be open for private prayer or the Sacrament of Reconciliation next Sunday, May 31, 2020, the reopening team is working to reach that goal. Here is what you should know for now.
- Archbishop Cardinal Cupich has continued the dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass to all Catholics in the Archdiocese during the pandemic.
- The best way to connect with the prayer life of Saint Andrew is to utilize the "Your Sunday Connection" web page or Flocknote. Live streamed Masses can be viewed on the Archdiocesan website.
- If you can, please join us for Your Sunday Connection... Live on Sunday mornings at 11:00 am.
- Continue to check our website for updates for announcements about our reopening. There will not be an announcement about reopening before this Friday evening.
- Be realistic about your expectations. If we are able to have any opening of the church, it will likely be available for less than a total of less than 30 people (10 people at a time) within a 2 hour window for only 15 minutes at a time.
In the mean time, here are a couple of key notifications for Saint Andrew Parish for the week ahead.
