75 years ago, the impossible happened: WW II ended. With the threat that evil could dominate Europe and move through Asia, and potentially cross the Atlantic, there were factions here already, America led the charge for the freedom of the world. Evil knows no bounds, no borders, no rules.
As we remember all of those brave men and women who were willing to make the ultimate sacrifice, it should give us pause to reflect upon our present situation in which our freedoms have been taken, albeit for the safety of others. It should chill us at just how quickly rights and freedoms can evaporate.
Just as we grew in an appreciation of family, friends and jobs, so too may we grow in an appreciation of the freedoms that so many died for. May we never be apathetic to rights, freedoms, faith and truth.
The burden is on us to defend our God-given rights, not for a day, or for ourselves, but forever for our children's children.
God Bless America.
He will, as long as we remain true to Him.
