May 27th 2020
We wish to thank all of St. Martin's Parishioners as we continue to "Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, and constant in Prayer". The work of the Church continues and we are looking forward to resuming public masses.
The First Public Mass at St. Martin de Porres Church will be Saturday the 30th of May at 5 p.m. especially for the elderly and those with underlying health conditions.) We have been given directions from the Diocese and we will follow them as they pertain to a church of our size. Below is a list of protocols to expect at the first Masses.
- If you are not feeling well, you should not attend Mass.
- Arrive early. Let me say that again; Arrive early. Entering and exiting church will take longer while maintaining social distancing. Hand sanitizer will be available at the door.
- There should be no visiting in the church, at the doorway or in the parking lot. We must maintain social distancing.
- Each Parishioner must wear their own mask at all times, the exception to this would be receiving Holy Communion.
- Collection will be in baskets at the doors. There will be no Offertory Procession
- Be advised: the bathrooms and cry room will be closed.
- All missalettes, hymnals and prayer cards have been removed and single use song sheets will be provided.
- Maintain Social Distancing at all times.Follow the Ushers' instructions entering and exiting the church.
- Families will be allowed to sit together; others will be seated as to maintain 6 feet of separation.
- Receiving Holy Communion will be in the hand and not the mouth. Hands should be flat. No one is to wear gloves during reception of Holy Communion.
- There will be no dialogue between the minister of communion and the person receiving communion. Instead, the Priest will say, "Body of Christ." Everyone will respond, "Amen" in unison.
- You might want to wear Red for Pentecost.
Please continue to pray for our Priests as they gather their flocks and we resume public Masses. Confessions, Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered this Saturday near the altar, from 4:00-4:45 p.m., with Mass starting at 5:00 p.m..
