Pentecost
Brothers and Sisters,
Come Holy Spirit! Happy Pentecost to all of you! In the midst of this most glorious feast I have a fair bit of good news to share with you. We have slowly begun to open up at Saint Simon. I am pleased to report that it is “so far, so good” with the re-opening of the parish office and the return to the celebration of our regular schedule for adoration, confessions and daily Mass. On top of this I am hopeful that we will be able to resume the public celebration of Sunday Mass next weekend. Please be on the lookout for a communication later this week that will explain in further detail what to expect when you return to Sunday Mass at Saint Simon.
I am also pleased to share with you that Saint Simon will be welcoming two seminarians this summer! They will arrive on Monday June 1st and will be with us for the next ten weeks. A seminarian is a man who is studying to become a priest and by welcoming these men this summer we as a parish will be able to share in their formation. We are pleased to be welcoming Justin Horner whose home parish is Saint Anthony of Padua in Morris and Matt Ohlhaut whose home parish is Saint Lawrence in Lawrenceburg. They will both have profiles in next weekend’s bulletin and they will both be at all of the Masses. Please make sure you say hello!
In my homily this weekend I address the fact that many people are living in fear at this moment. Please join me in praying for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit!
God Bless,
Father Doug
