The Youth Ministry Assistant (YMA) is charged with assisting the Youth Director in the formation of our parish’s middle and high school youth. The YMA will be responsible for creating and implementing youth group events, monitoring and teaching faith formation classes, basic record keeping and some volunteer recruitment and development. The YMA will be expected to spend about 25 hours per week on duties related to this position.
Duties include:
- Organizing, Monitoring, Developing, and Supporting JYM and YM Classes and Catechists; assisting in Confirmation preparation
- Leading Weekly Youth Group Events (Social, Service and Catechetical)
- Record Keeping, including Confirmation paperwork
- Leadership Development (Among Youth)
- Advertising
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- College Degree.
- Some experience working with youth (1 year, can be volunteer).
- Must be at least 25 years of age.
- Excellent grasp of the Catholic Faith
- Strong Organizational Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Safe Environment Training and background check will required upon start.
Preferred Requirements:
- College Degree, in Theology, Religious Studies, or related field.
- 1-3 years experience.
- Oral and Written Proficiency in Spanish Preferred.
