Please read the message below from Monsignor regarding recent coronavirus exposure and a one week delay at St. Jude Parish.
My Friends in Christ:
Archbishop Pérez has announced that parishes of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia will be able to resume public Masses the weekend of June 6 and 7. But, as noted at our Masses this past weekend, Fr. Dave and I have been self-quarantining since Friday, May 29th due to our exposure to the Covid-19 virus. For the safety and health of the parish, I have decided to defer the celebration of public Masses at St. Jude by one week to the weekend of June 13 and 14.
Fr. Dave asked me to inform the parish that he did test positive for the Covid-19 virus. He is not experiencing any symptoms. Fr. Dave will return to the parish once his quarantine period is completed. We continue to send him our prayers. I have tested negative for Covid-19 and will resume my public ministry.
When we do reopen for public Masses on June 13th, Bucks County is expected to be in the Yellow Phase of the statewide reopening plan. This requires that all of us need to do our part to make sure that our return to Mass is a healthy and safe experience for all. Detailed guidelines will be shared with you ahead of the resumption of public Mass here at the parish, and we ask everyone to follow these guidelines when attending Mass during this period.
We have lived through an awful lot the past three months, but we have not traveled alone! We have been surrounded with so much support, concern and prayers from one another. This includes support from Jesus, His Mother and St. Jude. They continue to bless us abundantly with their love.
I am truly looking forward to seeing all of you when you feel safe to return to Mass at St. Jude. Please know that our parish will follow all the guidelines from the CDC for sanitation as we resume public Masses.
We have so much to thank God for, and the highest form of Thanksgiving is the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass!
God Bless you!
