Below are comments from fellow Boomers and Beyond members as how they have been coping during this time of staying at home.

As we stay home and stay safe we have enjoyed doing things with our “extra” time like connecting with friends and family via cards, phone calls, and technology. Trying new recipes, like Dilly Bread and sharing with others in our complex. Taking drives around the city to places we haven’t been to for a while and putting them on our list to go again when we can get out of the car and enjoy it. It seems the little things have become more fun, like relaxing with a book or playing a competitive game or cribbage (won’t say who wins most).

The first couple of months sheltering at home were difficult, a few of the days feeling depressed. Now that the weather is nicer, I am enjoying being outside more and am able to plant flowers.

Ah, nothing on my schedule so I thought I would have peace and quiet. I did that for a few weeks. Now I read books, do puzzles, and paint. Charles Belfoure wrote a good mystery, The Fallen Architect. My daughter and her husband sent me a large picture of him in puzzle form for Mother’s Day. Now I’m painting two eighteen-inch statues of Mr. and Mrs. Frankenstein for my daughter’s Halloween birthday.
