My Dear St. Bernadette Family,
They’re telling us to watch out, there will probably be a second wave of this virus. It could possibly be worse than the first because we are tired, we are more aware of the sacrifices involved to prevent its spread, and people and businesses are financially struggling.
We’ve seen many different responses to this crisis already, from those who deny to those who selfishly put others at risk to acts of incredible care and sacrifice. The later being the most common and what we have seen here in our parish.
I was concerned we’d have too many trying to return to “normal” by returning to weekend masses. You have proved me wrong as many are making the good and safe decision to wait until this threat has diminished. I congratulate and thank you.
We will continue in our parish to be careful with our gatherings, to allow you to stay home in safety with our video masses and to keep up communications, support and prayer. The “Serenity Prayer” encourages us to do what we can and seek God’s wisdom to know and accept the limits which are beyond our control.
May God continue to bless you and keep you safe and well!
With love,
Fr. Tom
