Dear Sacred Heart Parishioners:
We are still waiting for the green light to open for public Masses for more that 10 people. In the meantime, we have been meeting with the ushers and cleaning crews; and are revising our guidelines for when we do open for weekend Masses.
I wanted to communicate a couple of changes to our original guidelines. The first change is who can attend Mass when we open. We have decided not to do the alphabet split or have a sign-up. When we open for public weekend Masses, all are welcome to attend the Mass of their choice. Remember, we will only be able to accommodate 50 percent of the church capacity seating which has equated to 145 individuals when you consider the 6-foot social distancing within the pews.
The second change from our original guidelines is at Communion time we will ask everyone to empty the pew to avoid climbing over people. If you will not be receiving Communion just follow the person in front of you and return back to your pew.
Again, I want to thank you for all your prayers and well wishes through emails and phone calls. I continue to keep all of you in my daily prayers. Let us also pray for those affected by the coronavirus and healthcare workers.
Peace,
Father Potts
