Greetings,
We are about to begin the new year for Altar and Rosary Society! As you may know, every woman of Holy Family Parish is automatically a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. All are invited to participate in our main events and gatherings.
Our new Board members for 2020-2021 are as follows:
Co-chairs: Mary Hagen & Pat Gawarecki
Secretary-Treasurer: Sara McDonnell
Communications: Mary Kotchevar
Sacristan Disciple Coordinator: Carol Pierce
The main focus of our group is:
• Altar: keeps up with the needs of our sanctuary and altar. The current system in place for caring for the altar is working wonderfully, so that will remain as is.
• Rosary: We hope to bring a new emphasize to prayer and service. Our goal in this is to provide opportunities and to make each woman feel a part of Altar and Rosary society, whether they are home bound, busy with little ones, or are overextended with many other discipleship opportunities. Even these can offer a prayer from their home.
As part of our new prayer and service focus, we have divided the women of Altar and Rosary, alphabetically, into six Saint groups. There will be approximately 100 women in each group, with one lead person. Members will be asked to pray one day of the week and to participate in our service to the Handmaids of the Heart of Jesus AS THEY ARE ABLE.
More details regarding the Saint Groups will be communicated to you by your Saint Group leader. Here are the six Saint groups and their leaders:
• St. Martha: Karen Bertoldi
• St. Monica: Lydia Eby
• St. Teresa of Calcutta: Clare Hagen
• St. Zita: Colleen Neumann
• St. Joan of Arc: Laurinda Romportl
• St. Lucy: Jennifer Tomaschko
Even in these uncertain times when we are not able to be together physically, we are still able to move forward and be together through prayer and service.
In His Most Sacred Heart,
Pat Gawarecki and Mary Hagen
