Dear Parishioners:
Last Sunday, Fr. The announced that Pax Christi will begin the public celebration of Mass this weekend. It's exciting to think about celebrating as a parish community again. In many ways the last couple of months have been surreal, and I pray that it brings you Peace to know we are resuming the public celebration of Mass.
Although the way in which we gather to celebrate the Eucharist will change, the memorial to Jesus' sacrifice remains constant. Our parish cares deeply for one another, but despite following guidelines from the Diocese of Winona-Rochester, MN State Department of Health and the CDC, Pax Christi cannot offer a completely safe environment to attend Mass. Persons over 65 or with preexisting conditions are strongly encouraged to not attend a public celebration of Mass. Bishop Quinn's dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass continues and Pax Christi will continue to live stream Mass.
In order to try and minister to as many people as possible, Pax Christi will offer three options to participate in Mass:
- From your home, you may continue to watch the live stream of Mass on the Pax Christi YouTube channel. The Sunday live stream Mass will continue to be private so that we can offer a Mass that includes music. The daily live stream of Mass will continue Monday-Thursday.
- Watch the live stream Mass in the Pax Christi parking lot, at 8am Sunday, and then come into the Gathering Space for Communion after Mass (around 9am). This does not require a reservation, parishioners can do this each week and will need their own device.
- 100 parishioners may register and attend the public celebration of Mass on Saturday at 5:15pm or Sunday at 10:00am. Those who attend are asked to wear masks, socially distance themselves and follow the directions offered by staff and volunteers. More information about this Mass is included below.
