Thanks to the hard work of our volunteers and your gracious cooperation, our first public Mass last Sunday went very well.
Keeping a cautious approach to returning public worship, we will follow the same schedule this weekend (9AM Mass live-stream only and 11:30AM Mass live-stream with a congregation; outdoor radio reception will be available at 107.7FM and Communion will be offered outdoors afterwards at both Masses). Of course, we will keep a careful eye on attendance with the anticipation of resuming additional Masses very soon. In addition, given the possibility of rain in this weekend's forecast, please check your Flocknote/Facebook feed or call the Rectory on Sunday morning for any changes due to weather.
Although not required, it is strongly recommended to reserve your seat for the 11:30 Mass either on-line at
https://visitationrcchurch.org/take-your-place-at-table or by calling
(732) 475-0048. Please keep in mind that,
even if you had made a reservation for last week's Mass, you will need to do so again for this week - reservations are good for one weekend only.
In addition to public celebration of the Eucharist we are also resuming limited public celebration of the other sacraments:
Confessions will resume starting this Saturday from 3-3:45PM. They will take place in the Church Sacristy. Until the Saturday 4PM Mass resumes, I will also hear Confessions on Sunday from 8-8:30AM in the Rectory Sacristy. In both cases, social distancing and facemask rules are to be observed at all times while in either building. I would ask that, for health reasons, to make what is called an “integral Confession”: kind and (if you know) number of occurrences of sin, with little embellishment – God knows the details and only wants to forgive us our sins.
Baptisms are also resuming. Since we can only allow one child/family at a time we are making provision for celebration of the sacrament at other times during the week. Please contact the Rectory to make arrangements; if you have already requested a Baptism, a member of our Baptismal team will contact you as well as information for the Baptismal prep session beforehand.
I know that several families were unable to properly observe the passing of loved ones, both due to COVID-19 and otherwise, so I am pleased to announce that Funeral and Memorial Masses will now be celebrated in the main Church. Please contact the Rectory office for information and to schedule.
On this very unusual Fathers Day we are, slowly but surely, trying to return to a new form of normal in our sacramental life. Thank you for your understanding, your help and your prayers and God bless you all!
