Dear Saint Hubert Parish Family,

This Sunday as we begin to resume Masses, we find ourselves back in Ordinary Time. We were able to open the church this Sunday for a limited number of people--two Masses each with 50 people attending. If everything goes smoothly we will expand from there so more of us can experience it. We will send an update on Wednesday about plans for next Sunday.

In the meantime, please continue to join us for our St. Hubert Mass on-line (available Sunday morning). Or for those looking for an engaging way to pray with others or for a reflective experience, try our Spiritual Communion Prayer Service, which is patterned after the rhythm of the Mass.

Looking Out For Others

Saint Hubert has a heart to help those in need. Here are some ways to help others and to find some help you may need.

Food Drive: Sunday, June 28 11:30am-2pm

Our good friends and neighbors at Church of the Holy Spirit are in need once again for donations to restock their Food Pantry. We're very grateful to everyone who gave generously during our last two drives, which went a long way to helping feed the hungry. Deacon Dick Lawson, Sandy Lawson and our volunteers will will be available at the front entrance to help collect the food.

Helping Hands: Parishioners Helping Parishioners

A dedicated group of Saint Hubert Parishioners formed the Helping Hands Ministry to help members in our parish who need it, free of charge, in various ways:

● Rides to appointments or the grocery store
● Relieving a caregiver by sitting with a homebound family member
● Handy work or yard work
● Housework/cleaning
● Meals for those recovering from illness

● Providing friendship--a person to talk with when you feel alone
● Just ask!

To request assistance or to volunteer to be on the team, please contact the Saint Hubert Parish Office at 847-885-7700, ext. 102 and your request will be shared with the Helping Hands Coordinator.

Saint Hubert Jobs & Networking Ministry

If you've found yourself out of work, this ministry provides support, resources and advice for those who could use it. This Monday, join the group for a virtual presentation on Interview Strategies by Mr. Bob Placko, retired Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Motorola. The ministry also can help you create an effective resume, and provide opportunities and ways to help build up your network as work on finding a new job. Click here to learn more.

Your support has kept us going through a very difficult time that has had consequences for so many families, small businesses and restaurants, and our parish. May God bless you in your goodness and care for our parish home.

One Step at a Time

As we make plans and try new ways to get as many parishioners back into church as we can, we're also very much aware that not everyone feels ready to resume again. The Cardinal's dispensation of the Sunday obligation (to be present for Mass) continues until further notice. In the meantime, we will continue streaming Masses and will offer virtual ways to stay connected. As Jesus tells us, whenever two or three are gathered in his name, he's with us. Gathering virtually is gathering together.

Do Not Be Afraid

One of the messages of the gospel today is one of Jesus' most repeated phrases: "Do not be afraid." There is a lot to be fearful of right now, but we know our life with God is a life of faithfulness that endures through all that life can throw at us. Somehow when we know we aren't alone, but part of a family of faith anchored in Christ, it gives us strength. We need God, we need each other and we need our parish. Faith is what holds us.

So let's continue to stay connected, to pray together, and to gather in his name--however and wherever it is right now.
