My Dear St. Bernadette Family,
Each letter I write begins with “My Dear St. Bernadette Family” and ends “With love”.
Although I use these greetings every time, they are carefully chosen to express my heart.

We are a family, an intentional family as opposed to a birth family. We gather and choose to love each other (occasionally a difficult choice) with all the commitment as brothers and sisters have for each other. You are the family of St. Bernadette, each of you sharing the responsibilities that come with family life. I have been privileged to watch you serving one another in a beautiful caring way
Members do come and go in this family. You welcomed me six years ago and now you will welcome Fr. Joe. Through it all, you are family to each other, sharing faith, hope and dreams. This continues no matter who is on staff.
The other term I have use is “love.” When I came here, although I didn’t know you I made the decision to love you. My love has grown through these years and now makes retirement a bitter sweet experience. I have so many fond memories. I have seen you at your best and on the worst day of your life. It has been a privilege to be a part of your families in all times and especially at prayer.
As I go, my prayer will always be that you continue a family with genuine love for one another and that your love be seen in the works you do for the “least of these.”

Have you been praying on what is next for you?
Thank you to the Knights of Columbus for the donation of a Crimson Oak Tree and the RCIA for planting the tree in the front lawn of the rectory. Your generosity of treasure and time will be appreciated for many years.
If you are able to make a donation for our VBS this year, please drop off at the office or send a message to Michelle to arrange a pick up.

All proceeds go towards the purchase of a mobile kitchen
