A LIFE LOVINGLY LIVED . . .
Father Mario Marzocchi, SSS, the beloved pastor of Saint Joseph Church Downtown for eleven years, will be buried tomorrow afternoon in the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament's plot at All Soul's Cemetery in Chardon, Ohio, in the scenic Chagrin River Valley east of Cleveland. The Funeral Mass will take place at 10:30 a.m. EDT (9:30 a.m. San Antonio time) at Saint Paschal Baylon Church in Highland Heights, where he served as pastor from 1993-1999. He will rest alongside his Blessed Sacrament brothers, many of whom he served with at various points in his long and illustrious life of Eucharistic witness.
Saint Joseph Church Downtown will hold Memorial Masses the weekend of August 1-2, the Solemnity of Saint Peter Julian Eymard, the Founder of the Congregation. Father Eymard died on August 1, 1868, and his feast is observed in the universal calendar of the Catholic Church on August 2. The Vigil Mass that Saturday and the Sunday Masses will be celebrated as Memorial Masses for Father Mario. This will allow many more people to attend than having one Memorial Mass. As we honor Saint Peter Julian Eymard, the Apostle of the Eucharist, we will thank God for another dedicated priest and religious of the Blessed Sacrament.
Requiescat in pace!
