Dear St. Joseph Parish Family,
We successfully restarted public liturgies! We have implemented the policies recommended by New York state and the CCD as well as the Archdiocese of New York. These policies are constantly changing, so we'll continue to stay on top of developments and make changes as needed. We are now back to our pre-pandemic, regular Mass and confession schedule.
It was great to see you all again! It was very nice to celebrate Mass with people besides the friars there! The Cardinal still has dispensed people from the Sunday Mass obligation, so we'll continue to record the Masses for people to watch from home. Also, we're planning on installing a permanent camera so that we can record and live stream Masses every Sunday, even after the pandemic.
I want to thank all the ushers and lectors who helped! We couldn't have reopened without them.
Finally, have a blessed 4th of July. It's a time to be grateful for our country and the values that have made America a great nation. Let us live up to the ideals of freedom and equality under the law that our society strives for. And enjoy the hot dogs and hamburgers!
God Bless, and see you in church,
Fr. Boniface
