Hello everyone. I hope you are well and keeping safe. It was tough to drive back from the Jersey Shore yesterday, especially with this hot weather. The water was perfect!
On the way home, I stopped by to see my Aunt Eileen in her home in Woodbridge, New Jersey. She is my mother's baby sister. Recently she was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. Unfortunately, lately she has been really hit hard. A daily communicant, parish volunteer, food pantry coordinator, a great "Pray-er", she now needs lots of prayers. Would you mind keeping her in your regular prayers? I would really appreciate it. She is one of the finest people that I know. I love her very much.
Here is a quote to match today's feast day, St Thomas, the apostle. The author, David D. Flowers, is an evangelical theologian and has a website called "The Centrality and Supremacy of Jesus Christ."
"Jesus' willingness to accommodate Thomas' unbelief is a reminder that God can handle our doubt. And that the rationalist doesn't need to see, touch, or run a lab test in order to believe in the resurrected Christ. Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me” (Jn 20:29) This is not a plea to accept what goes against reason, but it is an invitation to discover a faith that goes beyond it. The example of Thomas is for the stubborn skeptic in us all.”
