14th Sunday of Ordinary Time
Happy 4th of July!!
Zechariah 9:9-10. Romans 8:9, 11-13. Matthew 11:25-30
Jesus’s Kingship is one of mercy with humanity and compassion for all who are struggling.
In the Kingship of Jesus we celebrate his humility and gentleness, and in a particular way, understanding the blessing of children. His dominion is not one of power and control, but of a servant who lifts up the fallen and raises all who are burdened; he is gracious and merciful.
In the first reading Zechariah tells Jerusalem to rejoice, for their King shall come to them….riding… on a colt proclaiming a message of peace to the nations. St. Paul instructs the Romans that whoever does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. In Matthew’s Gospel reading today, Jesus gives praise to the Father for what he has revealed to the little ones.

Colleen and I are trying to think of some meaningful way we can honor Deacon Larry. We came up with what would be most meaning fun to him: to pray a rosary for him.
We would like to take the names of all those who agree to pray a rosary for Dcn Larry (1 rosary), we will make a meaningful presentation to him at the appropriate time. For now we are collecting names.
As soon as we can we will celebrate together for both Marianne Engleman and Deacon Larry.
There is a sign-up in the rear of the church, you can email Colleen or me and we are keeping a very long running total.
Can you think of a better tribute for anyone? Especially, for our Brother who will be ecstatic with such a gift. We are basically thanking God and our Blessed Mother for the gift of Larry.
Thank you for all the prayers and kind wishes at the loss of my father-in-law, and Dawn’s Dad, Buddy, who passed away this week. All the prayers and support during his ups and downs over the last few years. These prayers kindnesses mean so much.
We join with the 130K families who were not able to be with their loved ones at the end, recently. It is very different - isolating - at a time when you crave togetherness. Let’s keep all of these families in our prayers. They need comfort.
You are up to date.
