But first, Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday.
Then, at the Easter Vigil at 8PM on Holy Saturday we'll celebrate Christ's Resurrection and welcome the RCIA Candidates and Catechumens into the Church. Wonderful!
One of Father Dave Pivonka's recommendations (during the Mission) to "get more out of the Mass" was to study the Sunday Scripture readings beforehand. He assured us that it will bring the Scriptures alive when we hear them during the Mass. Many other teachers of the faith have said the same. Most have said that one can do it alone but it is an even richer experience to do it in a faith community!
Those of us with some free time during the day are very lucky, because we have an opportunity to do just that. (Above) Every Thursday at 8:45AM "graduates" of the Full of Grace Foundational Study program and others meet in room 202 of the Fallon Center. They come together in fellowship to study the upcoming Sunday Mass Scriptures. They call themselves the Thursday Theologians and extend a warm welcome to anyone looking for friendships, coffee and spiritual nourishment. Just drop in. Please.
Speaking of Father Pivonka (above), we will explore more of his perspectives on the Holy Spirit after Easter. For four consecutive Sundays starting on April 30, we'll meet after the 9AM Sunday Mass in the Bernadette Center to view and discuss a different video segment from his Wild Goose (Holy Spirit) series. A very appropriate topic to study while waiting to celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost.
No prep or registration needed. Just drop in.
