The 2017 Confirmations
The church was full. 78 Candidates + sponsors + families and friends.
Bishop John B. McCormack (retired) laid hands on the Candidates, asked the Father to pour out the
Holy Spirit to strengthen them with His gifts and then anointed them with the Sacred Chrism.
Confirmation, it's part of our maturing as Catholics ...but do we really understand the significance of what happens or the commitment we make during Confirmation?
Confirmation deepens our baptismal life that calls us to be missionary witnesses of Jesus Christ in our families, neighborhoods, society, and the world. . . . We receive the message of faith in a deeper and more intensive manner with great emphasis given to the person of Jesus Christ, who asked the Father to give the Holy Spirit to the Church for building up the community in loving service.
How are
we "missionary witnesses?" How do
we do that?
