Dear parishioners of St. Camillus,
With the death of Br. Chris, we have lost a kind brother, a passionate leader, a humble servant, a compassionate companion, a warm welcomer, a tireless man for others, and a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. We know that many of you will want to pay your respects and say goodbye to this good friar.
Given the limits imposed on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and our desire not to endanger the health of anyone who worships at St. Camillus Church, we will offer the following opportunities to honor Br. Chris:
FRIDAY, July 10th: 7:00 – 9:00 PM WAKE
For two hours on Friday, July 10th, from 7:00 – 9:00 PM, we will place the body of Br. Chris in the vestibule of the Church. All are welcome to pass by and offer a short prayer. WE NEED TO KEEP THE LINE OF MOURNERS MOVING, SO WE WILL ASK YOU TO ENTER BY THE FRONT DOOR CLOSER TO THE UPPER PARKING LOT, TO SPEND NO MORE THAN A MINUTE IN PRAYER IN FRONT OF THE CASKET, AND THEN TO EXIT BY THE OPPOSITE FRONT DOOR.
SATURDAY, July 11th at 10:00 AM MASS OF RESURRECTION
The funeral Mass (Mass of Resurrection) will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10:00 AM. Due to social distancing regulations, no more than 216 persons can be in the Church for the Mass. We will live-stream the Mass so that all parishioners who wish to do so can participate in the Mass from their homes. Church doors will open at 9:30 AM. Registration will be needed in order to attend the funeral Mass. Please call the parish office (call only 301-434-8400) to register starting Tuesday, July 7th. We apologize in advance that not everyone will be able to attend this Mass, and we thank you in advance for your kind understanding.
Br. Chris will be buried in the friar section of Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Butler, N.J. at a later date.
Please remember that face masks must be worn at all times once you leave your car.
Thank you,
The Friars
