July 2020
Dear Parishioners:
Normally our summers are filled with dreams of vacation and relaxing but this summer is different. Instead, we are worried about potential illness, keeping healthy (both physically and mentally), and what school will be like in the fall.
We have been open for Masses for about one month. Things have been going as well as can be expected as we have never done this before. We have made a few changes. For example the distribution of Holy Communion has returned to its proper place during the Mass. The priest or deacon will bring Holy Communion to you while you remain in the pews. The Archdiocese has asked us to refrain from singing at Mass. The cantor and accompanist will continue but we will not have worship aids until further notice.
Another positive note is Father Marc Reeves, SJ has returned to assist us with Masses.Father Marc must obtain permission from his religious superiors prior to coming to celebrate Mass because he lives in community with other Jesuits who are elderly or whose health is compromised. Welcome back Father Marc!
Also, our parish bulletin is being published again. The
bulletin is distributed at the Masses on Sunday and is also available on our
website.
Sometimes it is difficult for us to put our complete trust in God that God will protect us and that God still loves us during this trying and difficult time. We continue to pray for all who are anxious, nervous and fearful. We pray for patience with those who lead us and are trying to guide us safely.
Assuring you of the support of my prayers for you and your families and asking for your prayers for me, I remain
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Reverend Monsignor Paul M. Albee
Pastor
