Two New Faith Happenings

Peter Bible Study starts next week at 10:00 on Monday. We are considering adding an evening session that will start at 7:00 pm on Monday, July 20 if there is interest.

Saints Study Group - The saints are a great treasure of the Catholic Church. This new study group will explore one saint at a time, learning about their life and writing, beginning with the Doctors of the Church:

July 21: St. John Chrysostom (d. 407)
August 4: St. Thomas Aquinas (d. 1274)
August 18: St. Ephrem the Syrian (d. 373)
September 1: St. Francis de Sales (d. 1622)

To join either of these groups, leave a comment or contact Colleen Orchanian. By joining a group you will be added to the email list to receive the link for the zoom meeting. (When permitted, meetings will move to the parish hall. For now, all are online meetings.)

Fall Festival Cancelled - What Next?

In an earlier Flocknote we shared our plans to cancel the Fall Festival this year and asked for your input about other options for raising the money typically gained in the festival. Thank you to all who shared your opinions.

Our next step is to establish a small advisory board (5-7 people) for fund raising that will identify and schedule events for the parish throughout the year and solicit leaders to plan and execute those events. The goal for the current fiscal year is to raise $30,000 through various events. If you are interested in being on the advisory board (or learning more about it), please send a message to Colleen Orchanian or leave a comment in Flocknote. (You can make the comment private.) Current members of the Finance Council should not serve on the Fund-raising Advisory Board.

Rosaries for Deacon Larry

We are gathering names of those who commit to pray a rosary for Deacon Larry in thanksgiving for his service to the Church and our parish as he begins his retirement. There will be a date and time for praying the rosary as a group at the church (to be announced later) or you can pray on your own. If you would like to be added to the list of those who will pray a rosary for him, leave a comment in this Flocknote. Deacon Larry will be presented with a list of all those who have made the commitment.
