We are proposing the establishment of Cemetery Committee to solicit volunteers to assist in the renovation of the grounds. This would include; cleaning of headstones, removal of grubs, insects and weeds as well as the seeding of drought-resistant grass seed, and the long term care of the grounds.
We will provide training on cleaning both marble and granite headstones. We are also seeking a corporate sponsor to provide the materials to carry out this ambitious endeavor. Most importantly, we are seeking volunteers willing to take on this task in sections of the cemetery.
Please let us know if you are willing to participate in this labor of love, and help make the Saint Denis cemetery a beautiful place to visit.
You can sign up to volunteer! There will be a meeting at the cemetery on Saturday, July 18 at 10 am. We will meet at the Cross on top of the cemetery. At that time, we will do a walk through to determine what needs to be worked on and assign sections of the cemetery to each volunteer. Please wear a mask and plan on practicing social distancing.
