Dear parishioners and friends,
Please note that a parishioner reported testing positive for COVID-19 today after experiencing relevant symptoms on Sunday. This person was present in the kitchen at our festival on Wednesday ONLY, and also at 4 PM Mass at St. John the Baptist Church on Saturday, July 11. The previous weekend, the parishioner was at 6 PM Mass at Our Lady of Joy Church. The volunteer reported wearing facemask over face and nose and gloves all evening volunteering except when drinking water to hydrate and then away from the kitchen crew. And, of course, this person was wearing a facemask at both Masses attended, but was not volunteering at the Masses. The person is staying at home with spouse and has not been hospitalized.
Those at Mass those evenings and those working in the kitchen that night are being notified. We will be using our electrostatic sanitizer tomorrow at all facilities to sanitize all spaces. We also have a temperature scanner for each church and will temperature scan all those attending for the rest of this week and next week.
Please keep our parishioner in your prayers and all those who are being affected by this pandemic.
In Christ,
Father Kevin
