You might have heard the good news by now, yesterday, July 16th, it was announced that Pope Francis has appointed a new Bishop for the Diocese of Cleveland. Bishop Edward Malesic, who currently serves as the Bishop of the Diocese of Greensburg, Pennsylvania will be formally installed as the Bishop of Cleveland on September 14th.
At his introductory news conference Bishop Malesic made a special request of us. He asked the faithful of the Diocese to pray for him as he prepares to take up the task of shepherding us here in Northeast Ohio. So I'd invite all of us to do that, to pray for our soon-to-be Bishop. Offer up your own personal prayers for him, add a prayer for him to your prayer routine, offer Mass for him, spend some time in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, offer a Rosary, a Novena, or a Litany, or some other type of prayer.
Together as a parish family, let us intercede before God for Bishop Malesic, for myself, & for all of our Church leaders, that they/we may be filled & guided by the Holy Spirit!
Have a Great Day!
Fr. John
