White Elephant Sale
The Yard Sale on July 25 to raise money for the Daughters of Charity Mission in Kenya was a great success! Proceeds from monetary donations, online sales and the yard sale totaled close to $10,000 - - and donations are still coming in.
Sr. Mary Shea, a member of the Daughters of Charity and OLL parishioner, and Mary Dudas organized the sale with the help of many parishioners. “We are thrilled with the outcome,” said Sr. Mary, “it wasn’t just raising money, it was spending time together for a good cause.”
All proceeds will go toward the purchase of a used truck which will cost about $25,000, said Sr. Mary. The current truck used by the Sisters in Thigio is 15 years old, often requires major repairs, and is not dependable.
Sr. Mary, and the Sisters in Kenya, thank all who participated in the yard sale!
A special online ZOOM MEETING with the Sisters in Kenya is planned, the date to be determined. The Sisters will extend a personal “Thank You” to all who helped with the yard sale, and they will share details about the mission. If you want to be contacted about the upcoming ZOOM MEETING, or to assist with ongoing fundraising for the Kenya Mission, contact Sr. Mary - -
