We hope this update finds you and your family well during these challenging times. The RE team met with Fr. Ed and Dan Hull, our pastoral associate, this week to evaluate what we know about the coming school year. Due to the restrictions of COVID 19 we have decided to take our FaithBuilders programming online, utilizing various formats, through January. The physical space in classrooms and hallways isn’t large enough to adequately social distance our students and keep them safe. Your child’s safety is our number one priority. Let’s look at our current, ever-flexible plan by grade:
FaithBuilders,
Grade 1 & 2: Sacrament Preparation for Reconciliation and First Communion
Format, Zoom lessons (22 one hour sessions) based on Matthew Kelly, Blessed program
FaithBuilders,
Grades 3-6: Pre-recorded programming created by our RE team, approximately 60 minutes (22 sessions)
Grades 3-6 will be using the same lesson. (If you have multi-grade levels in your home grades 3-6 will be viewing the same lesson)
Ignite
Grades 7 & 8: Sacrament Preparation for Confirmation.
Format, In-person classes, held mainly in the Church. We’re working to rewrite a small portion of the curriculum, “Action Point” to accommodate these changes. Parents would drop off their student and pick them up without entering the building. New protocols in place for students and volunteers/staff based on the most current CDC recommendations. Much more is coming...
We hope you will be encouraged by the online/interactive classes that we are creating for your child. Our theme this year, Let Your Light Shine, will help your child grow in faith and navigate these unpredictable times with positivity. We will be sending out a sample lesson very soon for all to experience.
Thanks for your patience and commitment to sharing your faith with your children.
