Morning Service at Common Ground
We will be back worshiping at Common Ground at 10 am this week. We will be practicing social distancing and masks are required. Please bring your own lawn chairs, a cool beverage, and something to give you some shade. It is still quite hot out, we don't want anyone to roast!
Fellowship Time & Evening Service on Zoom
We are doing something new to keep connected with those who cannot worship with us in person at this time. Join everyone on Zoom for open Fellowship time at 6:30pm. At 7pm we will have a worship service on Zoom using recordings of the morning music and message. The recordings of morning worship will be posted on the church website.
Food Pantry Donation Needs
Thank you so much for your faithful donations!
The most significant needs right now are for Canned Soup, Canned Pasta and Canned Fruit.
Drop off Wednesdays from 10am to 1pm and 5pm to 7pm.
Getting to Know Pastor Kelsey
Pastor Kelsey is settling into Hopkins but has a lot of you to get to know still! She will be working on contacting/calling everyone in the directory, so be prepared to receive a call sometime in the next few weeks from the number below! "Finding Peace in an Anxious World" Book Study
Join fellow church members for a book study based on "Finding Peace in an Anxious World." Start Date: Week of Sept. 13th Book Cost: $11 paper copy, $6 kindle version If in person, we would meet someplace outside like Common Ground. If online we would use a facebook group to share the resources and have some discussion then have a 30 min zoom meeting to talk about it together.

“Finding Peace in an Anxious World” uses the book of Proverbs and "The Serenity Prayer" as a guide to help Christians find their way through anxiety, worry, and fear and move towards God's peace that surpasses all understanding.
The book is written by Urban Village Church, Chicago, based on a four-part sermon series they did on “The Serenity Prayer” in 2015. It was through that series that the church was able to address the tumultuous events of that summer and present a framework for how to approach a God who desires peace for the hearts of God’s people in times of anxiety.
The four chapters, each written by a different UVC leader, focus on different aspects of the prayer—serenity, acceptance, courage, and wisdom—and each concludes with a spiritual practice to help further develop the featured characteristic in your life so that we can be rooted in God and energized to live fully as Disciples of Christ.
