Reflection

“Jesus said to them,‘There is no need for them to go away; give them some food yourselves’.” (Matthew 14:16) This is what Jesus said right before he fed the five thousand men. How often do we really place our trust in Jesus when the situation looks grim? With Jesus, no gift is too small or insignificant when offered with love. But, we have to do our part. We should trust that Jesus will provide all that we need. We need to believe that Jesus has a better plan in store for us.

Greeters and Cleaners for Sunday Masses

As we begin the month of August and the last weeks of summer in this most unusual of years, we are seeing a few more people returning to Mass each week. Public Masses have been celebrated since the end of May here at St. Mary's. We have had a dedicated, but small "crew" of parish volunteers who have helped with greeting parishioners arriving for Mass and wiping down the pews, etc. after Mass.

Greeters arrive 15 minutes before Mass to welcome parishioners and help them to find a seat if necessary. It takes about 10-15 minutes after Mass for a few people to wipe down the pews and prepare for the next Mass.

We would greatly appreciate it if those of you who are planning to come to Mass in the coming weeks would sign-up to help out before or after one of the Masses. One of the experienced volunteers will be happy to show you what you can do.
