As a way to help with your prayer at home with our Recorded Mass, we have added in a period of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament after you are given the chance to pray the Act of Spiritual Communion.
As you pray this weekend with scripture that describes God's care and abundance, let us offer up our prayer for the healing of all who are suffering during this pandemic.
Let us remember that God still nourishes us with his Word and is with us to heal and protect us.
And let us remember that we gather for prayer to both give praise to our loving God but also to be transformed so that we may heal and protect the world around us as the Body of Christ.
Here's a prayer from the US Bishops that we will use during Adoration and that I invite you to use throughout the week in your homes:
Covid-19: A Prayer of Solidarity
For all who have contracted coronavirus,
We pray for care and healing.
For those who are particularly vulnerable,
We pray for safety and protection.
For all who experience fear or anxiety,
We pray for peace of mind and spirit.
For affected families who are facing difficult decisions
between food on the table or public safety,
We pray for policies that recognize their plight.
For those who do not have adequate health insurance,
We pray that no family will face financial burdens alone.
For those who are afraid to access care due to immigration status,
We pray for recognition of the God-given dignity of all.
For our brothers and sisters around the world,
We pray for shared solidarity.
For public officials and decisionmakers,
We pray for wisdom and guidance.
Father, during this time
may your Church be a sign of hope, comfort and love to all.
Grant peace.
Grant comfort.
Grant healing.
Be with us, Lord, now and forever. Amen.
Keep connected with us by sending us your home altar/worship space. You can post your pics on our St. Bernadette Facebook page or email them to office@stbchurch.org.
