It was so good to see some of you this evening! The teachers and I have been preparing all day for your child's arrival on Wednesday!
I wanted to clarify a few things regarding transportation. 1) If your child rides a bus, you probably want to reach out to the transportation office of the school district to ensure they know you are still planning to use the bus this year. I have heard some Sunman pick-up times have changed due to road closures.
2) If you are dropping off your child, drive up the driveway and drop students in K - 4 at the front door then continue on to drop students in grades 5 - 8 at the steps leading up to church. If there is a bus dropping off, please do not block the "hill" area. If you only have a student in grades 5 - 8, you can use the gravel lot and drop them at the steps leading up to church from the concrete pad. Parents of kindergarten students can park in the middle parking spaces and walk their students in the first three days and next Monday.
3) Car rider pick-up - park in the gravel lot facing the road like last year. Cars will be dismissed to drive up the blacktop driveway by a staff member standing down there after both early buses have left, usually about 2:40pm. We will start with the row closest to the blacktop school driveway. As cars leave, more cars will be sent up. Our hope is to have this finished before the 3:00pm bus arrives. PLEASE HAVE YOUR CHILD'S NAME, and ANYONE ELSE YOU ARE PICKING UP, DISPLAYED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE DASHBOARD.
We will radio who is coming so the students will be ready and at the door.
Thank you for your patience as we work through these plans to ensure they are the safest method for all of our students.
I can't wait to see everyone on Wednesday!
Peace and Blessings,
Mrs. Kirschner
