- We still have room for you to attend Mass on the weekends: English Masses on Saturday at 5 pm and Sunday at 9:30 am; Spanish Mass at 12 noon. It is true that our Bishop has dispensed the faithful from the obligation to participate in Mass on Sundays. If you decide that congregating for Sunday Mass constitutes a risk to you or others, you have the freedom not to attend. For those who stay home, Sunday remains a holy day, and we should all observe the Lord’s Day. Keep God in the center of your family life: watch Mass online, read the Sunday Scriptures and discuss them as a family, pray the Rosary or other devotions.
- Thanks to Sr Rita and the Faith Formation Core Team for coming to our first planning meeting. This is a positive response to the need to continue to share our faith with our children and teens, especially during this pandemic. With less gatherings on Church campus and more focus in the home we believe this will strengthen our family life and ultimately our parish community which is “a family of families”. We continue to welcome volunteers to serve as catechists and coaches for the monthly family meetings. Please call the parish office if you are interested in helping us.
- I heard a parent say, “I’m concerned about my teenagers, what can we do to nurture their faith?” Many parents have the same question. If you have any ideas of how to engage our teens 7th – 12th grades, please call us. We are especially in need of parents, educators, and social workers that would like to assist in youth ministry. At this point we have 2 adults to help plan. If you would like to volunteer and form part of a youth ministry team, please call the parish office.
- Thanks to the ministers of hospitality that have done so much to keep us safe at Mass on the weekends. May God continue to bless you for volunteering and serving the parish community. We could still use more “ushers” or ministers of hospitality for all the Masses. This is a beautiful ministry especially for couples to do together. Let us know if you would like to be trained for one for one of the Masses.
