Dear Parishioners,
How do we hear the voice of God? Elijah went out to the mountain to stand before the Lord, but he did not find the Lord until he heard the sound of sheer silence. Peter joined the Lord walking on the water towards Him until he started focusing on everything else and started to sink. This all speaks to our need to realize that it is the Lord who does acts of power with us and through us when we set aside time to listen to the still quiet voice of the Lord in the sheer silence.
We all live busy lives with many distractions. We are called to enter into silence and focus, for a time, on the one who offers us His Divine Mercy so we may know that he brings calm and peace to the storms in our lives, for Psalm 46 says, " Be still and know that I am God..."
Thank you to everyone who has stepped forward to offer physical, spiritual and financial support to our parish. Let us continue to build up our community by praying with and for each other.
