This Wednesday, an elderly tulip poplar near the school entrance tipped over onto the roof of the school. Praise God, no one was hurt! It caused a little damage to the stonework and roof where it landed, and upturned the sidewalk near its roots. Thankfully, Gunnison Tree Service was able to come out quickly to help remove the tree. Never a dull moment!

Archbishop Extends Suspension, Encourages Return to Mass
This week, Archbishop Hartmayer extended the suspension of the obligation to attend Sunday Mass until Monday, September 28, encouraging all those who are healthy to return to Mass:
"Watching the celebration of the Mass on the computer or TV cannot become a substitute for receiving the sacraments. When ill or in a vulnerable category for being infected or infecting others, the sick person should always remain at home. This pandemic should not make us lazy regarding our spiritual life. Our children are back in school and many people have returned to work outside the home. We still need to be extremely cautious and practice proper protocol. I suspect more of us can return to Sunday or weekday Mass than are currently attending. I am grateful to all our priests and lay faithful for making it possible and safe to attend Mass. I appreciate the patience of our people during this unprecedented time. Please continue to be safe."
Volunteer with Students at PSR, EDGE
Parish School of Religion is seeking volunteers for this year's K-5th grade programs, including:
- Adult teachers for 9:00 AM's 4- 5 year-olds class
- Adult teachers for 10:20 AM's 3-4 year-olds class
- Teens and adults at Sunday morning check-in, temperature-screening students and escorting them to their centralized drop off/pick up points.
Teaching would require a 1.5 hour weekly commitment from September-May. Email Elaine McCollum at emccollum@ctking.com to let her know you're interested.
