Faithful Citizenship Discussions
As Catholics, we bring the richness of our faith to the public square. We draw from both faith and reason as we seek to affirm the dignity of the human person and the common good of all.
This October, we're hosting a series of reflection and discussion nights on different dimensions of Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship, the US bishops’ teaching document on the political responsibility of Catholics, which provides guidance for all who seek to exercise their rights and duties as citizens. We hope you join us. For more information, go to
stegranitecity.org/citizenship.
Lectors & Extraordinary Ministers Trainings
Mark your calendars! Refresher trainings and ministry meetings for Lectors and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHCs) this month. If you're interested in joining one of these ministries, you can come these nights too. We'll also have the annual Lectors Workbook available at the lectors' training. If you're unable to attend, we'll send a video of the highlights afterward.
- Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion: Wednesday, September 16, 6:30-7:30 PM in the church
- Lectors: Wednesday, September 30, 6:30-7:30 PM in the church
PSR Going ALL-REMOTE: Registration Open
Let's be sure our young people understand their faith and are prepared to receive the Sacraments. Do you know a student in our parish who doesn't attend a Catholic school? Parish School of Religion (PSR) registration is still open. We plan to be open for in-person learning as long as our parish school is able to be open, following similar safe entry and classroom procedures. If concern about in-person learning is holding you back, though, please reach out. We're also planning a remote learning option as a backup if you need. Our priority is to ensure every youth in our parish has access to faith formation experiences this school year.

Celebrating Baptisms
We have celebrated a few baptisms since the post-COVID church reopening, and are now open to celebrating more. If you are aware of someone who is seeking baptism for their child, please contact us and we’ll help walk you through the appropriate preparation. For those over 3rd grade, we’ll also work through the steps of formation and preparation. Contact Michael Halbrook at FaithFormation@stelizabethgc.org or 877-3300 x1005.
Calling Photographers & Organizers
We’d like to assemble a small team of photographers from among our parishioners, and an organizer to manage a parish photo archive. We would love to be able to call upon a member of this group when we’re going to have a baptism, a Mass with the Bishop celebrating, Confirmation, notable events during the 150th anniversary year, and other similar events. The "Photography Ministry" would be present and document the event with photographs. We would use these for parish history, as well as on our social media pages, Flocknote, in the parish bulletin, etc. If interested, please call the parish secretary, Ms. Michelle Carroll, at secretary@stelizabethgc.org or 877-3300.
Becoming Catholic: An Invitation
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a journey of discernment & conversion to God and what He intends for us. RCIA is the process by which adults who were never baptized, or were baptized in another Christian tradition, or baptized Catholic but never received Confirmation or First Eucharist, become fully initiated members of the Church, a people on pilgrimage to our Heavenly Father. It’s also an
opportunity for anyone to stop in and learn more about their faith. If you know of anyone who may be interested, just reply to let us know how to reach out to them, or email FaithFormation@stelizabethgc.org. Full registration information is also at
stegranitecity.org/rcia. “Come and see.” (John 1:39)
