Fr. Mike is taking a few days of vacation, and will return to the parish next week.
Fr. Mike mentioned at the Masses this past weekend that Archbishop Hebda is asking all parishes to conduct a special emergency collection for our sisters and brothers in Lebanon suffering from the August 4 explosion there, where over 200 people lost their lives, 6,000 were injured, and over 350,000 people were displaced. Your contributions will help meet their basic needs for survival. This collection will be sent to Catholic Relief Services, the U.S. bishop’s international humanitarian aid organization for the poor and most vulnerable. If you wish to contribute, please send a check to Pax Christi, with “Lebanon Emergency Collection” in the memo line, or contribute online -

It was in January at Pax Christi that the archdiocese held one of 19 listening sessions in preparation for Synod 2022 (postponed one year because of the pandemic). Over 8,000 people attended these sessions and over 35,000 comments were written. Archbishop Hebda reflected on the input and announced this past week the three areas that will provide emphasis for discussion at the synod. Continuing discussions and reflection will be in these areas:
• Forming parishes that are in the service of evangelization;
• Forming missionary disciples who know Jesus’ love and respond to his call; and
• Forming youth and young adults in and for a Church that is always young.
The next phase of this three-year venture, “The Church Prepares,” has two prayer and study sessions, one beginning this month (Praying with Scripture) and one in October (Healing and Hope). Details about these sessions and how to participate can be found on our website,

Blessings of safety and wellness be with you!
