Grandparents Day Blessing
Celebrating Saturday, September 13, 2020
God of our ancestors,
we thank you for our children
and our children's children.
They are reminders from you about how precious life can be.
We humbly ask for wisdom and patience as we take pride and wonder in our grandchildren.
Those of us who now pray to you
also seek your blessing upon these men and women
who are our grandparents or who act in place of grandparents.
Bless all the children and their parents and grandparents
with your abundant grace.
We ask all this through the intercession of
Saints Joachim and Anne, parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
patron saints of grandparents,
in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Join JH teens for Arise Nights!
This even takes place in the STM gym from 6-7:15pm. Our first one is Wednesday, September 16th.

Arise nights are once a month in-person events for students in 5-7th grade. Middle schoolers can come here to encounter Christ, grow in fellowship with other kids their age, and learn how to put their faith into action. Arise Nights
All high schoolers are invited to this Sunday's TRUTH meeting on
September 13th.
We will be doing a nature walk at Jelke Creek Bird Sanctuary in Dundee. We will meet at the Boncosky entrance, and this will run from 4-6pm. You must provide your own transportation. Hope to see you there!
What are TRUTH meetings? They are a place to come and learn about how your faith can help you navigate high school, and what it means to know Christ. Through these events we will grow in community, support each other during this unknown time in our lives, and learn to lean on Christ as our biggest support.

Annual Tootsie Roll Drive
The Knights of Columbus will be outside the church the weekend of September 19th & 20th for their annual Tootsie Roll Drive. Proceeds
are used to help those intellectually disabled.

The September faith boxes are out for delivery!
- Families of PreK 4-7th grade should be getting contacted by your catechist liaison in the next day.
- If you have an 8th grade or 9th grade (Confirmation year 1/year 2)There will be a parent live stream information night to explain the procedures and expectations for the 2020/21 formation year.
- Plan to join us October 27th at 7pm. An email will be sent early October for all registered families.
- First Communion families- You should all be participating in the family faith program - details about sacramental prep will be in November.

Student Backpack Blessing
To celebrate the start of a great school year, every St. Thomas More School student received a tag for their backpacks that had a prayer for the school year on it. Students were not able to bring their backpacks with the tags on them to Mass, so this year Fr. Browning blessed all the tags and then the tags were distributed to all students, in person and remote, blessing them for a successful school year.
