1) Even parents forget their homework!
What's New: Friendly reminder, if you haven't already done so, please click on the link below and provide your electronic signature on the linked documents by this Friday, Sept. 11th. Then, for extra credit with your student, click on the second link below to order the Friday Spirit Day out of uniform t-shirt!
Why It's Important: It's important to set a good example for your kids and complete your homework on time. In addition, we would like to share more sights & sounds of what is happening on campus with our families who are no longer able to visit due to our increased restrictions this year, but are unable to take photos or videos until we have the required consent. And finally, if your kid plans to be out of uniform on Fridays beginning in October, it is important they have the official Spirit Day t-shirt.

2) Hot Lunch Update
What's New: For those of you already tired of making school lunches, we have exciting news. Hot lunch service will return starting Monday, September 28th!
Why It's Important: Due to the reconfiguration of lunch periods, with many students eating in their classrooms, the gymnasium or other locations, OLP along with Lancer Food Service has had to make special considerations related to the preparation and delivery of hot lunches. These logistics have been worked out and we are once again happy to provide this service for anyone interested beginning later this month.
What's Next: Hot lunch order forms should be available on the school website beginning early next week, and will be due Tuesday, 9/22 for the first month of service.

3) 2020 Marathon
What's New: Mark your calendars for the 2020 OLP Marathon, on Friday, 10/2.
Why It's Important: This annual fundraiser helps cover the cost of student enrichment activities such as field trips. Although these activities were unexpectedly canceled last spring due to the pandemic, the funds raised from last year's marathon were used to purchase additional Chromebooks to ensure that all students in grades kindergarten through 8th have a dedicated PC, should we need to return to distance learning again this year. These funds were also used to purchase the smart cameras for classrooms, which are allowing students to participate virtually when required to, either due to an underlying medical condition or when asked to self-quarantine due to a COVID-19 exposure.
What's Next: This year, Middle School students (5th-8th) will walk around Lake Nokomis, while Elementary & Early Learning Program students will walk a shorter route closer to campus on 10/2. Additional details around this year's event (including who will be in the dunk tank if enough money is raised and how you can live-stream that action from the comfort of your home) will be forthcoming.
